Play is an essential part of staying bonded and close-knit as a lion pride. Stalking and pouncing games are frequently performed especially amongst the younger generations. It helps keep their skills honed for hunting but also sometimes it’s really just about having fun! Yes, lions can and do have fun. The lions in my care are far more likely to play and have fun when introduced to new or different areas.
