Voting is MORE IMPORTANT at the local level because those are the elections that impact your daily life. Got kids - vote for school board members, attend meetings with them, ask questions, hold them accountable for the decisions they make that impact your kids. Own property, vote for tax commissioner who sets local tax policy for your town or county, ask questions and hold them accountable. VOTE for local judges, who decide sentences for people in your community and build records that either set them up for selection by someone who is making decisions you agree with or disagree with. Judges being selected for lower level federal courts NOW are 40ish years old with the potential for 40-50 years remaining on the bench. The decisions they make will set precedents that your grandchildren will be judged against. Are you confident that those decisions will be “fair” or “biased”? Elections have LONG TERM consequences. VOTE IN EVERY ELECTION. And yes - I OWE it to the ancestors who died horrific deaths advocating for my birthright to vote. If it wasn’t so important why would so many people try to take it away AND KEEP it away from me. And WHY THE HELL would I let them???? #dobetter #wakeup #blackandbrownvotesmatter #voteineveryelection #isaidwhatisaid

I am unclear about why anyone (no matter how brilliant, amazing and accomplished) thinks that the impact of 8 years of any presidency could nearly erase the impact of 400 years+ deadly chattel slavery , of persistent, legalized, violent discrimination and terrorizing, ongoing structural disenfranchisement. It’s a case for disappointment and sheer frustration at the best. The work of our ancestors was dynamic, not exhaustive or static. I am still figuring it out also and trying to teach and learn from my newly-turned 18-year old son but not voting just isn’t on the list for me.🔥👊🏾❤️🙏🏾, peace to all on the journey.

When you do not vote you give someone who may not share your views the right to make decisions for you...and it’s much bigger than the Presidency.
Why is rent or Public parking so high??Who makes these awful decisions for our children’s schools??How many times can they over tax certain popular items we buy like cigarettes etc...I can't afford NOT to vote.
Win or lose...at least I can say I tried to bring about change and make a difference.

I thought when you become President it's not just for black or white people. It's for everyone that live in the United States. Just tired of hearing people say what he didn't do for black people. If you don't have enough of people in Congress and the Senate to help pass legislation he's not going to get anything achieved

Might be an ignorant question because I'm not American... but didn't the LOSER get 3 million more votes? Didn't nearly everyone in trumps camp involved with the election end up in jail? Maybe people don't feel like their vote counts anymore?

Rather than being pessimistic, why don’t you use your platform in order to get more people out to vote. Get more people registered. Get more people involved with the issues. Help people understand that their vote really matters.
