"The Alphabet,” by #DavidLynch, 1968.
The idea for The Alphabet came from Lynch's wife, Peggy Lentz, a painter whose niece, according to Lynch in Chris Rodley's Lynch on Lynch book, "was having a bad dream one night and was saying the alphabet in her sleep in a tormented way. So that's sort of what started ‘The Alphabet’ going. Based on the merits of this short film, Lynch was awarded an American Film Institute production grant and became a minor celebrity" —Wikipedia, via the research of @chicojefferson for #juxsaturdayschool

Very nice like a Francis Bacon night mare... I worked for Bob Rauschenberg, in school I had made some films and still had my camera, I asked Bob if I could put the camera up in the studio ceiling looking down on his big work table, and do a time elapsed film of the nights work.... we had 5 big paintings on the table a normal night... he said no way... the camera doesn’t need to remember the night that’s your job
