saraminor when i found out i was pregnant it was a total surprise. we were not trying. we were already neck deep in wedding plans and so i felt like knowing the gender was one less surprise i wanted to have down the line. plus! i was able to find out the gender on christmas eve and make it a fun surprise for everyone in our families on christmas day. my husband is one of three boys so finally being able to tell his parents we were having a girl was the best. (my parents already had 2 grandkids .. one of each so they had no preference!) however. i don’t feel like i bonded any more with the baby then i was before i knew. you can still talk to the baby and do everything you would with or without knowing the gender. our nursery is still pretty neutral and yeah it’s nice to buy some gender specific items but you have time for all those after baby arrives!! having done it once, i want to wait to find out when the time comes for any future babe. either way i know your baby will be oh so loved so who cares 😍😍 you and @andrewdeast are going to be great parents and knowing the gender doesn’t change that. you don’t have to figure out how to be a parent to a boy or to a girl. you just have to figure out how to be a parent and you both will!

leelynlaw I 💙💜💜💙 that you are waiting and will have that very precious moment to yourselves! I work in an OB office. The majority of our patients find out the gender and have the excitement of a gender reveal party and they love shopping and decorating and calling the baby by name. But I've seen couples find out and be so disappointed they were miserable the rest of the pregnancy. A couple were so disappointed they were having a fourth girl they considered aborting the baby and for the rest of the pregnancy referred to the baby as "the demon child" and "the little b****. It is very concerning and heartbreaking. This reaction is not healthy for the mom or baby. It also affects the other children who hear this and wonder "I'm a girl, do you not want me or not love .me?" This of course is not the majority of reactions. When a couple waits until birth to find out the gender it even makes it more exciting for the medical team in your delivery room! I can tell from your videos y'all are beyond excited to become parents but when you deliver that baby and find out together the gender y'all will become closer and more in love than ever! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your blessings with the world❣

amyaplitt I'm so proud of you for not finding out the gender! There are so few secrets left in life. Right now you are growing a precious human that you and Andrew created and that God ordained. It blew my mind when I was pregnant with each of my children that our baby grew inside me for 9 months but the only one who knew every detail about him/her was God! That is complete trust--giving complete control to God, which I have to work on every minute of every day. But when that moment comes that your little one enters the world and the dr announces the gender, there is no other moment like it. You will never, ever forget that feeling. While they clean up the baby and you and get everybody settled and leave the room, then there are those precious moments that you will have together as a new little family, and the rest of the world won't know. We cried with joy together and thanked God for our healthy little miracle whom moments earlier we didn't even know the gender of. It's truly an incomparable experience, and I encourage you to wait! You're 3/4 of the way there. You'll never regret it!

alexis_mich3l I have four children my first three I found out in cute ways, all girls, when we had a surprise baby number 4 on the way I decided I didn’t want to know, I had so many ppl saying oh were you trying for a boy? I bet this is your boy! Or wow three girls your poor husband I hope this one is a boy for you! And I was so aggravated Bc it made it like the first three little girls I have (beautiful and healthy) weren’t important Bc not one was a boy, and I do not want my daughters to feel like mommy and daddy were disappointed they aren’t boys! So I didn’t find out andnit was the best thing I ever did Bc it didn’t matter to my husband or I, after the shock of an u planned pregnancy, we just wanted and prayed for another healthy baby, so many of our family and close friends are struggling with fertility and we are blessed with another baby. alyssa_wittle I didn’t think it would make so much of a difference, but I felt a HUGE amount of bonding happening after we found out the gender, even just being able to call her by her name and that it felt entirely natural before she was ever here...her birth wasn’t an addition to the family, she was already very much a known part of our family. I think it helped my husband feel more involved with the pregnancy too because he could connect more. He also called our daughter by the boy name we picked until we found out because he wanted a boy so badly, and I think the time after we found out was good to let him enjoy, adjust, and accept being a girl-dad which he had never put thought into (claiming he didn’t know how to be a daddy to a girl and that he would be bad at it). I personally wouldn’t want to do it any other way!

mk3ghost I’m so excited for y’all. We decided not to find out with our first and last pregnancy. Since the one in the middle we did find out I was happy I knew, however, we loved the surprise of waiting to find out in the delivery room. My husband was thrilled to tell me- “it’s a girl!” both times. Even with tears of happiness after the third daughter was born and he’d been praying for a boy, I know God knows the parents best and will give you what you’ll be best at raising. We were built to raise daughters. And I’m looking forward to the days we inherit 3 son in loves and then one day grandchildren. Enjoy the wait and the surprise! It’s the best!
