Nearly 200 CEOs in the Business Roundtable, a group of chief executives from major U.S. companies, are dropping the age-old notion that corporations mainly function to serve shareholders and maximize profits. ⁠

Those executives include major players like J.P. Morgan’s Jamie Dimon, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Apple’s Tim Cook.⁠

Investing in employees, delivering value to customers, dealing ethically with suppliers and supporting outside communities are now at the forefront of American business goals, they say.⁠
