On this day I just wanted to show love and respect to Ms Gwen Carr. She’s the mother of #EricGarner and we spent quite some time together at various churches and media outlets speaking on police brutality. She’s been waiting 5 long years to get SOME justice for her sons MURDER by NYPD. Although we have a long way to go- today was a step towards the right direction as officer #Pantaleo who killed Mr Garner was fired from his job (after 5 years of collecting checks after the murder). Now he loses his his pension that the tax payers paid into for this inept “servant” of the people. Now that he no longer has the authority to kill at will- the next best thing would to see this man get convicted for what he did. He’s caused this family so much pain. The strength of Ms Carr is actually mind blowing. In the middle of the time she should have been allowed to just grieve her loss- she’s been out here fighting for change and helping others. I admire this kind woman and wish I could somehow take away her pain. We need justice and accountability for anyone who feels then can just snatch a life away. You hurt soooooo many people in your selfish moment of entitlement-I wish you many sleepless nights officer Pantaleo. And to Ms Gwen- I wish you peace and comfort 🙌🏾🙏🏽

jcarrasco7474 Wow, Ms. Carr, your strength inspires me. I didn’t know your son but it hurts us all for his loss and impacts us a great deal on how he lost his life. I cannot even begin to imagine your pain of losing your child. And i don’t even have the words to say how sorry i am. But you two will meet again and when you do, he’s going to greet you with open arms and say thank you for trying to make a change on this earth and how proud he is of you for speaking out for him and others. I know he’s smiling at you now. Feel comfort Ms. Gwen Carr in knowing that you ARE making a change in our justice system for your son and others who have suffered an injustice and that your beautiful son is smiling down at you, being a proud son. Much love and tight hugs to you Ms. Carr and family and may God continue blessing you with strength to fight this injustice. You’re not alone, we fight this fight together with you. 🙏❤️

red_carpet_pro I met Ms Carr at the NAACP Image Awards in 2017. We spoke about the injustice done to her and her family. I was impressed by her fortitude. So happy that this part of her journey is done.
