We are helping Dolce with her care and she’s going to Health & Harmony Animal Hospital tomorrow to be checked out. They are a no-declaw clinic. ❤️ Here's a note we received. . "I found little Dolce under a shrub in our garden grotto. I noticed a patch of black and white fur through the window. There are a lot of stray and outdoor cats around here but I went to check it out anyway. I found a skinny half-dead kitten with severe flea anemia, her gums and ears pure white. She could barely stand up. If she hadn’t chosen a spot near the window I’m sure she would have died, as I don’t go into that area every day. Vets were closed for the weekend and there are no rescues or shelters here for cats. I gave her fluids & elctrolytes & it perked her up enough to start eating squeeze tubes. I also gave her a flea treatment and made her a temporary shelter where I found her. (I couldn’t bring her inside due to our cats.) She was doing a lot better each day but I noticed her front feet looked a bit deformed. When she started walking more I suspected it was the effects of a declaw like I had read about on citythekitty and thepawproject’s instagram and webpages. I tried to hold up a paw to see if that was the case and immediately got bitten. I never saw any claws come out and she often growls just from walking and jumping down. She is very sweet but clearly in pain and spooked by the whole ordeal. She is talkative and wants attention, you just have to be careful not to pet near her legs. She has started playing a bit too. I think this effect of declawing must be why she was neglected then dumped. She is on the porch where she is safe and won't run away. Yesterday I was able to check her front paws & she doesn't have any claws in her front paws."
