The indomitable human spirit.
Lia and her family have a literal hand-to-mouth existence living sometimes on nothing but bread and tea and whatever their neighbors can spare. The area of the camp they live in, Sabra, is a warren of improvised and wildly unsafe electrical wiring, streams of raw sewage, chemicals and trash. It is a brutal place; haunted by relentless pain, near constant fear and annihilating boredom.
But amidst it all you see these spirits, these beautiful human souls, these agile minds and hearts.
The world has delivered horror upon horror on this family and yet they love defiantly. The dichotomy is indescribable. To be in its presence is to be forever changed.
