It’s a crystal clear turquoise haven accessible by boat in the middle of Komodo national park. To get here you will need to take a boat from Labuan Bajo which is a short flight from Bali ✈️ . It’s places like this that make me realize how much more we need to do to preserve our precious planet 🌏 seeing plastic bottles and rubbish floating in the water through the national park has been heartbreaking. And local kids using plastic bottles as soccer balls 😢 . We’ve been on a mission to travel lighter with reusable bottles, utensils, straws and carry bags. Our boat was equipped to help us travel greener and reduce our footprint. Having fresh, filtered water to refill our reusable bottles is a step in the right direction. These islands are just so beautiful and unique and need to be taken care of, along with their wildlife inhabitants 🐉 tourism is so important to support the economy of places like this, however we need to all make efforts towards sustainable travel 🌏 . What we can do - . ✨ Carbon offset our flights ✨ Choose direct flights and travel locally where possible ✨ Bring our own reusable drinking bottles, metal straws, utensils, bags, food wraps/containers, shampoo, soap etc ✨ Reduce our waste ✨ Reuse towels/sheets ✨ Bike, sail, walk, take public transport where possible ✨ Support the local economy and cultural heritage - ensure souvenirs are made locally and not made and shipped from another country. . I’ve learnt so much more on this trip about climate change and that we are at a critical tipping point. We all have the power to make a change.
