repost via @instarepost20 from @hovig_guitar_ On a day like this the legendary blues guitarist Mr. FREDDIE KING was born. His soulful and powerful voice and distinctive guitar style and fast-fingered guitar technique inspired countless musicians such as Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Lonnie Mack. Freddie King was an American guitarist, and singer born in 3 September 1934 d. 28 December 1976. He has been described as one of the "Three Kings" of electric blues guitar along with BB King and Albert King. He was inducted into Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. King based his guitar style on Texas and Chicago influences. His best-known recordings include the singles "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" and "Hide Away". King had an intuitive style, often creating guitar parts with vocal nuances. He achieved this by using the open-string sound associated with Texas blues and the raw, screaming tones of West Side, Chicago blues. King's combination the Texas and Chicago sounds gave his music a more contemporary feel than that of many Chicago bands who were still performing 1950s-style music, and he befriended the younger generation of blues musicians. In his early career he played a gold-top Gibson Les Paul. He later played Gibson ES-355 guitars, using a plastic thumb pick and a metal index-finger pick to achieve an aggressive finger attack. He was one of the first bluesmen to have a multiracial backing band at live performances. In this video clip Freddie performing "HAVE YOU EVER LOVED A WOMAN" amazing guitar solo. "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" is a blues song written by Billy Myles and first recorded by American blues artist Freddie King in 1960. The song is performed as a slow blues with King's vocal and guitar accompanied.
