Powerful wind, rain and flooding hit North Carolina’s barrier islands Friday morning as #HurricaneDorian crawled up the US East Coast. The storm, which weakened to a Category 1 hurricane after causing catastrophic damage in the Bahamas, knocked out power for thousands of residents off the North Carolina coast. By Friday afternoon the storm’s center had moved northeast over the Atlantic.
