I lost my Dad last week. He was very special to me & all those who knew him. If you’d like, you can read the eulogy I read at his funeral on my Facebook page (link in my bio). But along with my sadness I feel a profound gratitude to those who helped make my father’s passing peaceful, & the celebration of his life a beautiful affair.

Firstly, to my four brothers & my sister, who carried me through this. I see Dad in all of you. I am so lucky to have you as my family. To my partner Jenn, whose arms I cried in countless times since the first day we heard of my Dad’s illness over three years ago. To my amazing nieces & nephews, whose sadness & words at his funeral & Irish wake are a testament to their love for their “Baba” & his near perfect success as a grandfather. To the people of Alcoholics Anonymous, who showed true service to their community in their care for my father. To DC, Warner Bros, Marvel, Disney, and The Suicide Squad production team, who reorganized everything at an enormous price tag, so that I could be closer to my father & spend time with him in his final months - they are businesses run by human beings who, to a person, understood the value of family. To Alice, Bobbie, & Kayley from Barnes Jewish Hospice Care, who took care of my father & helped him to “let go & let God” - you were a true gift. To Nunn - who my Dad called Joe - who also took care of my Dad. To Schrader Funeral Home, St. Joseph’s Church in Manchester, & the Missouri Athletic Club who made my father’s wake, funeral, & Irish wake as meaningful as his life was to us. To Chief Scott Will & the wonderful men & women of the Manchester, Missouri Police Department who helped everything flow smoothly. To Father Jerry Welsch & my aunt Ginger (Sister Donna Loretto) for a lovely mass. To Peter & Natalia Safran, Charlie Ferro, Simon Hatt, & Andrew Hurwitz who flew out to the services because they loved my Dad but I know, even more so, to support me. To my friend Larry Fitzgibbon: you are my brother. And finally to my dear Mom. You have been a saint these past few months. You stuck the landing. I love you more than anything. And to all those I’ve left out: thank you ❤️❤️❤️
