Designed on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Pierre Koenig’s Oberman House in Rancho Palos Verdes, California was built in 1966 as an icon of mid-century modern design.
A prizewinning house by a renowned Los Angeles architect, Koenig is most known for his mesmerising Case Study Houses sponsored by Art & Architecture magazine.
The architecture commission program ran from 1945 to 1966 challenging major architects of the day to design and build inexpensive and efficient model homes for the United States residential housing boom caused by the end of World War II.
