On his own personal front Levis dedication & determination saw him win several New Zealand Arm Wrestling titles & gain acting roles which obviously meant more personally to him than I knew. He is now fighting for his life & just sent this message which, like Andy Whitfield, is heartbreaking & reignited the message Be Here Now! I have an inoperable brain tumour. I don’t know how long I’ve got left and I don’t know how long I have cognitive functions. I’m in hospital and just had a biopsy, right in the middle part of my brain (worst place) cancer the size of a large apricot. Anyway brother. I just wanted you to know. You changed my life. During Spartacus others pretended to be a gladiator and you become one. You ignited the the actor in me. I was so moved by your emotion, your truth, your love. (Fuck, I’m crying right now). It changed the direction of my life. It not only changed my life but it changed the man I am. I studied, I went to the Neighbourhood Playhouse school of theatre in New York. I continued studying in NZ. Met amazing friends, amazing relationships and became happier. Last year I played a Serbian hitman for the full 8 episodes on a NZ/Danish co production! And well I only have a fraction of your success I’m happy. I have lived an amazing life. Don’t get me wrong, I plan to fight, fight harder than I ever have before, fight to live.
