Our identity is a statement that sets up relational, situational, and cultural context. It influences how we think about ourselves and how we relate to others. But! The way we identify is not so simple. I identify as female, a student, a young adult. I also identify as American and biracial (Chinese/White). My racial identity is something I’m still figuring out... which might sound weird, I guess? That’s for another post. But my strongest identity is that of a climber 🧗🏻‍♀️🧗🏻‍♀️ As a young person (age 12!), I found security within climbing that shaped my self-concept for years to come. While I’m currently exploring other parts of my identity (student!! 🤓), climbing will always be important to me. Now, if you feel comfortable, tell me how do you identify?
