My first post on IGTV! (sorry about the unstable image because of the autofocus function of my mobile phone...) This is my first piano concerto that Istudied at 14 and played with a piano accompaniment in a competition (Jr. Gina Bachauer Competition in Salt Lake City). To tell the truth, I wasn't feeling comfortable playing those ornaments (at 0'18 – 0'25 for example) at that time, because there just seemed to be too many small notes within short parts. Even though my teacher said "it should always sound like singing", I was saying to myself "but singer can't sing so fast nor going up and down in that wide range in reality..." (Obviously, I didn't know much about Bel Canto opera. Also, I was a bit too serious person, so I wasn't feeling good with this "out of tempo" music). Over the years, I think I have understood a bit the real meaning of "singing from heart", and this part turns out to be my favorite of the entire work. :)

このショパンのピアノ協奏曲第2番は、13歳の時、Jr.チャイコフスキー国際コンクールのガラコンサートで優勝したランランさんが弾いているのをテレビで観て感動し、まだ自分には技術的に早かったのですが先生を説得して翌年チャレンジした、自分にとって最初に勉強したピアノ協奏曲です。でも当時の私は、ショパン特有の小さな音符で書かれたベルカント的装飾部分(例：0'18 – 0'25)が理解できず、ぎこちなく弾いていました。先生からは「装飾音でも一音一音心から歌うように」と言われましたが、内心「声楽家はこんなに幅広い音域で細かく歌うことはできないよ」と呟いていました（まだオペラをあまり知らなかったこともありますが、結構真面目な性格だったので(←!?)、この字余り的な感覚に違和感を持っていました）。それから二十数年が経ち、本当の意味での「心から歌うこと」がようやく分かってきて、今ではこの協奏曲の中で一番好きなパッセージになりました。（そして1'15と2'27からの和声進行、、最っ高に好きです!!）
