Anyone watch the democratic debates? Some classic moments...like the infamous “record player” quote... I highly recommend everyone go to Politico.com and click on “issues” to see a comprehensive list of actual policies for each candidate. It’s interesting. Some want to get rid of the electoral college. Some want to get rid of all nuclear power plants. Some want to make all college free. Some are for Medicare For All- a controversial plan that will cost a whopping 33 TRILLION dollars of tax payer dollars in just the first decade but makes some enticing promises. Some want to legalize marijuana on a federal level (finally!) Some want to tax *everyone* for their carbon use. Castro called for “abortion rights for trans women”, others want to legalize abortion with no limits (including late term abortion, which means you can kill it as it’s being born). Yang wants to give every citizen 1,000 a month, an experiment called UBI. Some are in favor of letting felons (murderers, rapists, etc) vote *while* still in prison- others say only *after* prison, others say felons can never vote. The immigration policies vary widely too. These subtle distinctions and debates are important to note and consider long term repercussions of- beyond the superficial popularity contest of who seems more “relatable” or peer approved.
