I am excited/scared/but mostly excited about our baby coming out to the world! when we first started putting this book proposal together I had such acute anxiety about doing this book that paralysed me for months. I asked myself how the hell did I ever think I could write a book when ‘all I’d ever done was model’, barely finished high school and had never written more than a caption or an email! but the need to explore the spectrum of feelings we experience around social media as well as the support of my co-captain on this project @sarah_raphael kept me going! while working on this book I really went through the craziest time of my life so far and committing to working on this book is often what felt like kept me alive. the magical mythical medium of writing allowed me to process so many confusing things and reminded me to rely on my own feelings in a world where image is king. to ask more questions, to trust my gut. this book is actually more about the complexities of being human, that social media only exacerbates and amplifies what’s already in us to begin with.
