The Prince of Wales today visited the Netherlands to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem.
The airborne operation is today considered the largest in history with over 35,000 British, American and Polish paratroopers landing behind enemy lines by parachute and glider.
The Prince attended a commemorative service and met veterans at Ginkel Heath with HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, before visiting St. Eusebius Church, which was heavily damaged during the battle.
During the service, paratroopers, including members currently serving in The Parachute Regiment, of which HRH is Colonel-in-Chief, dropped onto the heath.

His Royal Highness also attended a service for the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade and met members of the Army Air Corps at the Airborne Memorial at Oosterbeek.
