Or maybe it was ‘89. Who cares. My mom handed it to me because I was the one who liked to fix shit around the house. She figured I’d read the manual. And I did. She put me in charge of videotaping Christmases and birthdays. Which was boring. Until I learned that I could spice things up by telling people what to say and do on camera and sometimes even do it myself. Thus my career was born.
