Girls are often immediately born at a disadvantage because they are not what was most hoped for or desired. This past week’s International Day of the Girl was a vital celebration for girls across the world because so many still face unimaginable pain and suffering, simply for being born female. October’s #LoveOurGirls newsletter highlights some truly heart shattering stories, and while it’s difficult to grasp how these experiences and practices still occur, we’re also updating you on the courageous work of two amazing organizations previously featured, the Tahirih Justice Center (@tahirihjustice) and CARE (@careorg). Both are on the front lines, fighting to make sure that girls are given a shot at justice, equality and stability.
