(LINK IN BIO) I fight to honor this woman, my grandmother, Doris Dooyema. She taught me so much but above all, how important it was to be selfless and live in service of others. I have tried to continue to carry on these values in her absence. My granny bravely battled lung cancer and in her fighting spirit we must continue to change the stigma around lung cancer. We need to provide more funding and education, in hopes of saving more lives. I will be walking on January 26th, 2020 in San Diego and hope you can join me. I have started, Team DD, am setting a goal of $20,000 which I know together we can achieve!! I have seen the force for change we can be as each year we meet and BEAT the goal to become the TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM! Being a part of this organization helps me make sense of the loss and carry on her fight for others. I started us off with a donation and know we can do this over the next 3 months!! I appreciate all donations but also REALLY want us to get out there and fundraise. In doing so we are educating others while advocating for a worthy cause. Its an important part of being involved. When my grandmother was diagnosed there was a lot we didn’t know. I wish I knew non-smokers could get lung cancer, I wish I knew about radon, I wish I knew it was the NUMBER ONE CANCER KILLER and could happen to ANYONE.
