本日2回目の特別講義👩‍🏫前回につづき、文化における女性表象をテーマに、私はヴィクトリア朝絵画における女性について。1回目は、実際に歴史画や風俗画に描かれる女性や、「家庭の天使」や「fallen woman」をキーワードに当時の世相を反映した女性表象について話したので、今回はより「リアル」な額縁を飛び越えて女性たちについて考えました。ミレイの『オフィーリア』のモデルをつとめたstunnerなリジー・シダルや、マイフェアレディを地で行くジェイン・モリスらモデルたちにはじまり、長きにわたり男性たちの陰に追いやられ存分に活躍する機会が得られなかった女性画家たち、社会改革者として時代を牽引したジョセフィーン・バトラーに、フェミニスト作家の魁、キャロライン・ノートンまで、素晴らしい女性たちについて。自分の専門はもちろん、今関心を持っていることに結び付けれて、準備の段階からすごく楽しかった！でもレクチャーはやっぱりプレゼンテーションと違って難しい、何より時間配分が…この反省を生かして次は頑張りたいです。そしてもっと女性表象やその周辺の話をする機会が増えたらいいなあ☺️ Just gave a second lecture on women in Victorian art and it was truly a great experience! Following the first one mainly focusing on women depicted and represented in art including highly idealised female figures as impeccable wife and mother and “the angel in the house” and the outcasts such as fallen women, today I mainly talked of women outside of canvases, say, the models for hear pictures, female artists who had been neglected and underrepresented in the field of art.
I could have better organised the whole talk time wise but overall I truly enjoyed preparing these lectures and I’m really grateful for this opportunity😊
