ミュージシャンの Aubrey “Drake” Graham (オーブリー・ドレイク・グラハム) とOliver El-Khatib (オリバー・エル・ハティーブ) 、Noah “40” Shebib (ノア ・ジェームズ・シェビブ) が率いるグローバルライフスタイルブランド October's Very Own (オクトーバーズベリーオウン）のアジア初の旗艦店 OVO TOKYO が先日、青山にオープン。ワンダーウォールがインテリアデザインを担当させていただきました。
「日本の建築や文化へのオマージュを」というリクエストのもと、日本の現代美術における重要な動向である ”もの派” にインスピレーションを得て、意図的に ”作り上げない” 空間をデザイン。主体と客体の関係を解体し、日本独自の曖昧という概念をショップ空間に持ち込むという試みを行いました。

OVO TOKYO, the first flagship store in Asia by October's Very Own -- a global lifestyle brand led by Aubrey "Drake" Graham, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noah "40" Shebib -- has opened in Aoyama with interior design by Wonderwall.
With a request of the theme of this project be "a tribute to Japanese culture and architecture," we referred to "Mono-ha" -- an important trend in the Japanese modern art world -- as a source of inspiration for the space. Pursuing the idea of "not making" -- to not intervene and present them as unadulterated objects --, we dismantled the conventional subject-object relationship to embrace the uniquely Japanese concept of ambiguity in the store design.
