I took this photo from an abandoned building on the coast of Chiba, looking out across Tokyo Bay to Kanagawa. This is the area it's believed artist Hokusai would have viewed the wave that went on to become one of the most famous artworks in history. I consider this the perspective of Japan looking out at the world as an island country.
