Giuseppe Penone’s sculpture, “Identity,” was unveiled in October at Kistefos sculpture park on the occasion of the opening of the new museum building, The Twist.

With its roots raised more than 39 feet in the sky, the work displays a slight twist in Penone’s oeuvre, as one tree dramatically supports the other, head down and roots in the air. The sculpture was made in direct response to the Kistefos.
