The Inuit people lived a seminomadic hunting lifestyle here for nearly 5,000 years before settling in towns in the 1950s. As traditional life fades into memory, many families strive to preserve their cultural legacy by taking their children on long camping trips every spring, passing on traditional knowledge and skills. Leesie had traveled from her home in Ottawa to join her extended family for this important annual event.
