サマンサウィルスさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サマンサウィルスInstagram)「/ D E C A D E⠀ ⠀ + Patricia Fields selected a pair of SW Earrings to appear in the SATC film and it changed the entire trajectory of my life.⠀ ⠀ + I moved to NYC (10yrs ago!) knowing hardly a single person.It was hard & exciting & scary & amazing & I nearly got mugged by a group of guys who surrounded me & followed me for four blocks after walking out of the Apple store holding a new laptop. ⠀ ⠀ + A boy I was dating told me that he preferred brunettes to blondes,rather than ditch him,I dyed my hair brown.There is so much wrong with this & it took me the better part of a decade to truly deconstruct the reason why I allowed my own self-worth to get to a point where I felt that I needed to be someone entirely different.Shockingly,that relationship did not work out.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + I launched @samanthawillsfoundation⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + Optus created a national TVC of a flash back of my career to current day.The other person on the campaign was Mark Wahlberg.It’s still very surreal to type that. (TVC in stories if you would like to see it).⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + In this decade I realized I had designed over 12,000 pieces of jewellery & it took me a few years to realize I didn’t actually enjoy designing jewellery anymore.I wasn’t prepared to admit that to myself & fought it for a very long time. This became very anxiety ridden & exhausting.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Finally,I SURRENDERED.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + After having the brand for 15 years & the only existence & identity I had known, I closed the brand to allow new creativity in & to see who I was outside of Samantha Wills Jewellery.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + I wrote a book.It was a fucking confronting process (due for release in mid 2020).⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ + To end this decade I relocated back to Australia for a period of time to launch the book & am spending the summer months in the ocean & working on a creative project at my dining table,the very same place the last adventure started.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I don’t know what’s next,but for the first time in a long time,that’s ok.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Glance back,move forward.Close some doors,open some new ones.As in nature, trust that the universe has a plan that is unfolding in exactly the right timing as its meant to.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I wish you love,calmness & creativity for the new decade ahead -SWx」12月28日 8時58分
