Graves's patronage of Patek is the stuff of legend: between 1922–51, he ordered no fewer than 39 watches from the Swiss watchmaker.⠀

What makes this watch so special is a small button on one side. When pressed, it chimes the time out loud like a grandfather clock, and was the first ever Patek Philippe wristwatch to do this. In November, it realised CHF4,575,000 (including buyer's premium) in Geneva.⠀
