I made a public proclamation that my career will uncompromisingly be defined and strengthened by my gay identity and expression. I was fortunate enough to create this 10-minute lip sync and dance number that celebrates icons that have inspired the LGBTQ+ community. I performed this in front of thousands of young people and their parents alike across 26 cities on tour. Most importantly, my own mom and dad saw this live and further realized how important it was for me to be 100% myself by discussing, defending, and celebrating queer culture.
