The past year has been filled with so many contradicting emotions/memories for me. I've been able to connect with some amazing and beautiful people. I've had the opportunity to collaborate with multiple LGBTQ organizations. It's honestly been a dream at times. However, I also went through one of my worst depression phases after my dog had passed. And right when I started feeling better, I got injured and was out for 3 months. It’s really been a struggle the second half of the year, physically and emotionally. But in the end I know I have grown so much. I’ve been able to reassess and take time for myself. Through that, I feel like my mind has been opened to so much more. I've learned so much about myself and the person I want to be. Reflecting on my top 9, it made me think. This is a perfect example of what social media is. We tend to only share the moments we want to be seen, usually the best parts of ourself. But it's not a true representation of our life. So forget all the highlights you see of others. We owe it to ourself to live our life to the best that we can. We all go through moments of love, inspiration, strength, and grace. But also moments that break us, tear us apart. Remember that they're just moments. It doesn't define you. It's makes you human. It makes you beautiful. Each of our journeys is special and it's not any less beautiful than someone else's. So with this new year, new decade. Let's be human. Let's be authentic. We don't have to share everything we go through.
