ジェレミー・テンさんのインスタグラム動画 - (ジェレミー・テンInstagram)「A few weeks ago some of you were asking me why I wasn't in the World Premier of our show, AXEL. So here's a little life update: This video was taken on April 1st, 2019, the exact day that I developed a minor but debilitating labral tear in my right hip while rehearsing some new tricks for my Cirque contract. After months of rehab & strength training, by August I was completely cleared by our medical team & resumed my normal contractual duties pain free. But the shitty thing about hip labral tears is that they are never able to fully heal due the extremely poor blood circulation within that specific area & after a few months of performing pain free, I woke up 1 day & I couldn't walk. All of the worst case scenarios came rushing to my head. Surgery. Months upon months of rehab. I literally thought my career was over. After a week of severe pain & hobbling, I found out that I was having a severe episode of inflammation & that the area had fillled with fluid. The day after my doctor's appointment, I watched from the sidelines in Montreal as my amazing cast of AXEL dazzled in our World Premier. Although I was incredibly proud of my team, it just felt like another dream opportunity missed. It was like not qualifying for an Olympics all over again. Ok, maybe not that dramatic but you get the point. A full month of rest & rehab and 1 cortisone shot later I was finally cleared last week to return to 2 shows in my main track as the villainous "Vi." As we enter this new decade & as I approach the end of my 1st year in my 30s, I am more thankful than ever for the job that I have and the amazing cast that comes with it, my friends and family that have always showered me with their unwavering support, & thankful that I'm with a company that provides me with the incredible care, equipment, coaches (Chris & Jeff), and physiotherapists (Nicola & Danielle) that have helped me figure out how to remain a functioning athlete while living with this defunct hip that I will essentially have for the rest of my life (until heaven forbid I finally have to acquire surgery to fix it).
