My name is Monica Aksamit, I represented @teamusa at the 2016 Olympics along with my incredible teammates. Together we won a bronze medal. I have been fencing since the age of 8. My first language was Polish and I still speak and write it. I love animals, especially dogs. I have 2 dogs. A Dalmatian named Pongo and a Peruvian dog named Oro that I brought back home with me after the Pan American Games in Peru. I’m the daughter of two Polish immigrants who have taught me that in order to be successful you have to be a stubborn hard worker who refuses to give up. I spent my first few years living in Poland and then from the first day of kindergarten I have lived in New Jersey. I then went on to graduate from @pennstate with a degree in Kinesiology. While I am an athlete first and foremost, I also do some modeling on the side. I try to spread happiness and positivity on social media as we live in a world full of hate and negativity.
