Grasping. This scene is a perfect example of what happens so often when I’m out taking photos. I was feeling somewhat underwhelmed by my findings on this particular morning on the California coast, as it was a little windy and the dew drops were drying up. I found a clump of grass with some dewy webs hidden deep inside, and knelt down to investigate. In doing so, I discovered this lovely little scene — a vine clasping two blades of grass as it grew upwards towards the light. Nature is so damn perfect sometimes I can’t even handle it, and the beauty is always there if you’re willing to look hard enough to find it. •
