The release date was set to March 11. The same day I was on the train station in Tokyo heading to my former home town Sendai, to have a goodbye party with all of friends there. I never got there. At the station it started shaking or more like moving many meters sideways. I knew this was a big earthquake. The tsunami hit the east coast really badly and I it took me 13 days before knowing all of my friends were okay there. But they were suffering losses of both family members and their homes. I felt so bad for not being able to help them. I totally forgot about the release the song and since everything in Japan stopped that day the song didn’t come out. But someone put it on youtube without me knowing, and it was spread like the wind. I had no idea, until my manager called me a few days later. I checked youtube and it was more than a million streams in a day with hundreds of comments. People said that this was what they needed in time of crises. They were crying watching the video, but at the same they got energy. This made realise how important music is for healing and that was my mission in crises. Make music. Since then I heard so many stories about how the song helped people when they were suffering. The song was the most played song that year in many radiostations in Japan and won several prices. It’s just lived its own life. I was myself back in Sweden in the hospital, pregnant with my twins so actually I didn’t do anything. I’m coming out with new music soon. It’s about my own crises, but it’s first of all a song to cheer people up(including myself) and to know things will get better. It’s called ”Bättre”. Coming out soon.
