But UK followers, if you’re looking for something quick and easy to show your support for our amazing NHS staff trying to contain COVID-19, tapping the link in my bio and signing/sharing this petition could really help. • At present, the UK government are not testing frontline NHS staff for the Coronavirus as a matter of course. If a staff member has any symptoms they’re told to self-isolate for 7 days, taking them out of the workforce at a critical time, then told to report back to work on the 8th day - with no way of knowing if they even had the virus in the first place, and are therefore still susceptible to it, or if they DO have it, whether it has fully cleared and it’s appropriate for them to be back working with and caring for vulnerable people. • This isn’t about political point-scoring and bashing the government in what seems like a time of unprecedented chaos (and this would be a huge logistical undertaking), it just seems like common sense right? Plus, testing en masse is the only way you can truly track, trace and move to contain an epidemic like this.
