These are images from 2018, no editing, just a grain effect. I never posted them because I didn’t feel good enough. For far too many years, I let people tell me who I was or wasn’t. “You’re too short, too thin, too quiet, too loud... your hips are too big, your boobs too small, your nose too big, your lips too small.”

Hearing these things over and over again can really mess with your perception of yourself. Being in an industry that is so focused on the idea of perfection and materialism is hard to navigate with a healthy mindset. It seems like we’re always trying to do more, be more, have more. Personal growth is important but we need to make sure it’s done in a healthy way.

Fast forward to today. These days I’m sitting back in my chair and letting myself breathe deeply. I’m finally allowing myself to be all that God called me to be. I’m slowly but surely embracing that it’s okay to be me, exactly how I am right now. I’m not too much or too little of anything. I’m taking my power back.
