“Without love, there’s no reason to live”. I was cleaning up after dinner yesterday, Resurrection Sunday, while listening to this song by #SisterSledge — and it got me a little choked up. The video speaks for itself. But for some context — I’ve heard this song about 500 times since the shutdown began, when @dnice began #ClubQuarantine. I even listened to it later last night while virtually sitting next to the amazing man who produced it, @ナイル・ロジャース, at #ClubQuarantine #AfterDark. Anyway, it keeps making me cry. It’s a happy song, and I’ve always loved it, but my tears are from a deep feeling of #gratitude and #love because of what the song means to me now! This song will forever remind me of this time. Specifically, it will remind me of the amazing spirit of the people who’ve chosen to spread #love during this trying time. I always say “in the worst of times, make the best of times”. Yes, it’s often easier said than done. But having witnessed so many others doing just that, has filled my heart — and this is the song that makes my heart bubble over. So to @dnice, and all those loving souls that I’ve spent almost every night of the last three weeks with — who now feel like family, thank you! To the people choosing to vibe on a more loving frequency, thank you! To my BH Familia, who know this side of me and are usually watching me host my own parties and spreading the love, thank you for staying #titanium. To all those putting themselves on the line for others — and putting love and service above personal safety — I thank you for your courage! LOVE IS REAL! Believe it! Find it. It’s out there!
