The watch we recognise as “Pepsi” is the Rolex GMT-Master. Presented in 1955 (but in production already in 1954) the GMT-Master was worn by pilots and navigators from the American airline PanAm. Being pioneers in commercial transatlantic jetliners, the pilots had a work day in two different timezones, which explains why the GMT-Master “Pepsi” offers a bezel insert divided into two halves – one red, to indicate daylight hours, and one blue, for night-time. Today the Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 126710BLRO with ceramic red/blue bezel insert in considered one of the most coveted steel sports watches 🤓🔍
