I have spent the last 27 years with this woman, we grew up side by side, and to have been able to witness this momentous occasion, after having watched all the years and years of work that went into it... I’m speechless. The biggest silver lining to come out of this pandemic for me was being able to watch her talk yesterday on Zoom, and truly be a part of this moment. If we weren’t all locked down, I wouldn’t have been able to experience it. Of course, now we don’t get our celebratory vacation next week, but there is plenty of time for us to make it up. I couldn’t be any more proud of you, DOCTOR STEPIEN! It’s been a long journey, and this is the beginning of an amazing new chapter. You have always inspired me to push myself harder (you are probably 90% of the reason I got decent grades at school, because of the amazing example you set for me to strive towards).
