I found this vintage Lanvin bubbly bolero that I’ve had since 2011 But in actual fact the lovely @dreeharper attempted to get it to me back in 2008 when she was running her vintage store The Urban Collection, which I supported a lot on the blog. It somehow got lost in the mail for ages before it made it back to her - I just had a good re-read of these email exchanges between Drew and I on my old Hotmail account. Those were the days before WhatsApp and quick fire texts. Emails were laboured over and full of squealing and enthusiasm. They also reminded me of a time when blogging was a lot of long mutual commenting, with meaningful exchanges arising out of them, as well as a time when a connected community could dork out collectively online - After a very long USPS/Royal Mail goose chase, I finally got the bolero in my possession a few years later That‘s defo seriously slooooooow fashion 😅 - Longtime followers will know I don’t wear a great deal of black unless it’s got something seriously interesting going on. Bubbly textured, frilled edges and ballooning sleeves certainly means it fits the bill. I’ve since worn it a lot when LBD’s needs pimping up or just when I need seriously puffy shoulders (which is most of the time really...)
