ポリスの5thアルバムにしてラストアルバム “ Synchronicity ” ( 1983年 )にはぶったまげた。当時高校生(16歳／岡山)だった僕は、3rdアルバム ( 1980年 )
“ ゼニヤッタ・モンダッタ ” の ワールドツアーで岡山県( 倉敷市民会館 )に来た世界的なロックバンド “ ポリス ” に勝手に親近感を覚えていた。( たまたまブッキングされたのだと思うが、当時外タレが岡山の土を踏む事は無かった！) 実験的だが完成度がやったら高く、かつポップ。パンク( 子供 )のフリしてデビューした彼らが、本当は超インテリ( 大人 )であったという( 薄々感づいてはいたが・・・ ) 事実を知ってしまったアルバムでもあります。
街中でパトカーをみる度に“ The Police ” を聴きたくなるのは僕だけでしょうか？？？ The Police’s 5th, the last album “Synchronicity”(1983) was a blast.
When I was a high school student (16 years old living in Okayama), I felt a sense of familiarity when the world-renowned rock band “The Police” came to Okayama (Krashiki Civic Hall) on “Zenyatta Mondetta” world tour. (Probably it happened to be booked, as foreign musicians had never set their foot on Okayama’s soil till that time.)
This album was so experimental but high in completion, and pop, as to make me recognize they were super-intelligent (adult) although on the debut they pretended to be punks (children).
