クリスティー・ターリントンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クリスティー・ターリントンInstagram)「Exactly ten years ago, this very day, the culmination of two years of work in the form of a documentary called No Woman, No Cry premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. After experiencing the trauma of a postpartum complication after the birth of my daughter—and learning that (at the time) a half million women and girls were dying from pregnancy and childbirth around the world—I made a commitment to myself, and all mothers-to-be, to do something about it. So, I embarked on a journey around the world to listen and learn from women who had survived harrowing experiences, and made a promise to them that I would find a way to share their voices so that more women around the world could understand. I remember staying up until the wee hours of the morning the night before the premiere helping put the finishing touches on a new website that I would direct people to at the close of the film. It was called everymothercounts.org. I wanted to be sure that audience members had a place to go to learn more about the issues after the film. Today, at 5pm ET, I’ll be hosting a live screening of an excerpt from the documentary, as well as a panel discussion with a few of the maternal health experts who’ve been instrumental on this journey (link at @everymomcounts bio). It will be humbling to revisit the film that kicked this whole endeavor off, as well as talk about what’s changed since then. To this day, while not perfect, the documentary remains one of my proudest accomplishments and Every Mother Counts, my life’s purpose. Thank you to everyone who helped set this decades-long journey in motion. @dallasbrennanrexer, @clancymccarty, @sabrinadupre, @1.800.newbold, @gladmoney, @sarigilman, @pablitobrill, @martha.wainwrigt 📷 @alexmajoliphoto @kassiasurf #kirstenjohnson #wellingtonbowler #dinahossain」4月25日 4時05分 - cturlington
