As much positivity and celebration that come with the work I do to support the American Lung Association, this is the other side, I don’t often show. But its important you know my passion comes at a price and every now and then I break because I miss her. Lung cancer took my 79 year old non-smoking healthy little Granny. I want to hear her voice and tell her about my day. I want to cook stroganoff and play Yahtzee. I want to talk about trips we wanted to take and walk around the farm at dusk. I want her back so bad... how has 6 years not gotten easier. Through the pain I am reminded of my purpose. I have found one in honoring my grandmother’s life through helping saving others with @lungassociation Its how I move forward without her and in her absence I found a place to be a voice for the voiceless. I think of the strength she had in the face of cancer and the desire she had to inspire others. I carry her spirit with me and my work is in hopes we can unite our hearts and fight together for this cause.
