“Free Souls” — I took this photograph of David Boals and Mark Vanderloo on the rooftop of my home in #NewYorkCity in 1992. Mark had just come to America for the first time from the Netherlands and David was an all-American football player from Ohio and former construction worker who was relatively new to modeling—and yet they had a connection in pictures that’s hard to put into words. These kinds of chance encounters and quick friendships are what I miss most right now—I know we’ll welcome them again soon. That gives me hope.
