アナベス・ギッシュさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アナベス・ギッシュInstagram)「Today, I’m thinking about earlier this year when I joined these inspiring kids at Joyner Elementary School as they sparkled during an after-school workshop funded and led by the nonprofit @ustheatreco. I’ve never been so proud to serve on the Advisory Council of this incredible organization transforming lives through theater. Now more than ever before, I see first-hand how youth and families in our free writing and performance workshops dramatically improve in areas like academics, social skills and self-confidence. Our organization was founded out of the ashes of the 1992 L.A. Uprising as a way to give a voice to the disenfranchised. Now, we are again responding to our community in the face of a crisis the best way we know how - by giving our participants vital access to the arts, virtually, as a way to heal and continue to grow. Since the end of March, we have not stopped offering disadvantaged and incarcerated youth high-quality theatre arts education providing them critical access to our programming but with few resources at our disposal. I’m also thinking about how today would have marked our 12th Annual Gala, but since it’s been postponed, we are in vital need of the support we would have raised at the event.
