One of the absolute highlights of my career was getting to know @U2. We opened for them on their 360 tour in 2012 (which made me & @OneRepublic feel like we finally belonged) then the Joshua Tree tour, and somewhere in the middle I was lucky enough to produce a cpl albums for them with some other crazy talented folks I look up to. In my short life I’ve met a lot of heroes...occasionally they live up to the hype and once in a while they exceed the hype. U2 is that band & Bono is that man. Gracious, energetic, selfless, enigmatic, & beyond talented. I’ve actually been lucky to work with most all my heroes at this point in my career- & I can say with total sobriety & certainty they are as good as it gets; as humans, and as musicians & artists. I’m fortunate to still be as active in the bizarre world that is the “music business” as I was 17 years ago when I started- & now more than ever I wish there was an orientation to what we lucky few get to call our jobs... & teaching that orientation should be Bono, Larry, Edge & Adam. That course would teach honesty, humility, mystery, tenacity, & a commitment to do the hard work. The opposite of a one hit wonder, overnight viral success. That’s what they are & that’s why this many years on they continue to inspire & outsell every other touring act 10,20,30 years behind them. They’ve inspired me & continue to- Bono- as successful as u are as a musician, you’re even more successful as a human- thanks for always lifting us up- happy birthday - love ya ❤️.
