For forty years now, the internationally renowned Leica Oskar Barnack Award has been honoring outstanding achievements in photojournalism. The jubilee year 2020 presents the perfect opportunity to look back over the history of the award: the photo series that have won over the last four decades have offered not only great perspectives on socio-political and photographic issues, but, in their totality, have long become a vivid archive of the history of photojournalism.
