ミカエラ・シフリンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ミカエラ・シフリンInstagram)「Thank you so much to the firefighters from Edwards Fire Department for coming to my house at 2am recently following a false alarm from one of my smoke detectors (my detectors automatically send a signal to the department). Every now and then I’ll catch myself thinking “Seriously? What else?” Getting shocked out of bed by that deafening alarm at 2am was one of those moments, until these men showed up and then I just felt gratitude. Of course gratitude that everything in the house was okay, but even more than that, so much gratitude for every person out there risking their own lives and health to keep the rest of us safe and healthy. To those who keep us safe from harm- thank you. To the doctors and nurses fighting the Covid-19 battle on the “front lines”- thank you. To those working tirelessly to develop treatments and a vaccination for this virus (and all other viruses)- thank you. To those working in my local community, and around the globe, to ensure access to behavioral health services as emergency room visits have increased due to anxiety and depression- thank you. During #MentalHealthAwareness month (May) and throughout this unprecedented time of uncertainty and fear, your work is so vital to the health of our community, Eagle Valley Behavioral Health, @mountainyouth, @speakupreachoutec, etc. To those trying to find ways to stimulate and stabilize economies around the world- thank you. To those showing kindness to their neighbors, friends, and strangers in this time of strife- thank you. There is a lot out there right now that feels scary, there is so much unknown and out of our control. But there are also selfless and heroic acts of kindness happening every day, every minute, all around the world. For that I say, THANK YOU. Today is #KindnessWinsDay.
