サンディエゴへ〜
ミッドウェイ博物館へ行って来ました。
博物館というよりアメリカ海軍の航空母艦そのもの！
とても大きくて広くて中身を見ることができて貴重な体験でした。
ミッドウェイは第二次世界大戦後に就役して、ベトナム戦争、湾岸戦争へも参加し、日本は横須賀にも停泊していたそうで歴史を感じます。

インパクトのある恋人たちがキスをしている巨大な像は「20世紀のアメリカを語る一枚」の有名な写真を元に作られたそう✨
Kissing statueと呼ばれているそうですが、正式な名称はUnconditional Surrender（無条件降伏）。　
第二次世界大戦の日本降伏のニュースを聞いて喜びの勝利のキスだそうです。
Kissing the War Goodbyeという別名の類似写真のタイトルもついているのでそういうことだと思います。
1945年、8月14日。日本とアメリカの切っても切り離せない関係性がありますね。 

その像について調べていて話はそれましたが
友達と行ったのでとにかく楽しかったですよ💓

One Day Weekend Series (in 2018 my LA Life) To San Diego ~ I went to the Midway Museum. Rather than a museum, the US Navy aircraft carrier itself! It was a great experience because it was very large and wide and I could see the contents. It seems that Midway was commissioned after World War II, participated in the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, and that Japan was also anchored in Yokosuka.

It seems that the huge statue of lovers with impact kissing was made based on the famous picture. It is called Kissing statue, but the official name is Unconditional Surrender. ‥ It is said that it is a kiss of joy victory when hearing the news of Japan's surrender in World War II. I think that's because there is a similar photo title called “Kissing the War Goodbye.” August 14, 1945. There is an inseparable relationship between Japan and the United States.
